Abstract

The Marun oil field is located in Dezful embayment, northeast of Ahvaz and northwest of Aghajari oil field. Aghajari formation and recent deposits have formed surface outcrop and also the Asmari formation with 5 reservoir layers is the main reservoir rock in this oil field. In this research high fractured areas in the Marun oil field have been analyzed based on subsurface date and it seem to be the Marun oil anticline is an asymmetric fold and the middle parts have been distinguished as areas with potential of fractures development with respect to longitudinal Curvature. South west limb in more parts and north east limb in middle parts have been distinguished as areas with high fractures density and Axial bending of the Marun anticline is because of shear zone result of basement faults motion and old strike slip structures.
